Our mission is simple: To give co-parents the self help tools they need to build clear, thoughtful parenting plans, dramatically reducing legal friction, attorney prep fees, and emotional stress.

Cover all the essential details holiday rotations, school break schedules, medical decision making, and communication rules before sitting down with a lawyer. Our guided questions ensure nothing important gets overlooked.
Both parties can complete their proposals independently. FairMiddle automatically identifies where you agree and flags points of difference, so you and your counsel can focus exclusively on resolving unresolved terms.
Once you’ve aligned on your terms, FairMiddle generates a clear, structured summary report. Bring this document directly to your family law attorney or mediator as the foundation for your formal court order or separation agreement.

Start building a clear, organized parenting plan today and take control of your consultation process.
Thank you for visiting FairMiddle — A Calmer Path Forward.
FairMiddle helps parents create time-sharing agreements through a simple, structured platform designed to improve communication, reduce conflict, and potentially save time and legal expenses.
Going through a custody case can be emotionally overwhelming, stressful, and financially demanding. FairMiddle provides a calmer, more organized approach that allows parents to focus on reaching agreements and moving forward.
FairMiddle offers two ways to get started:
Once completed, your proposal or agreement can be presented to legal counsel for review and preparation of the appropriate legal language required for submission to the court.
This is a question many parents may ask, and we'd like to explain how FairMiddle can make a difference.
When preparing for a custody case, three concerns often come to mind: finding an attorney, understanding how much the legal process will cost, and anticipating the challenges of negotiating with the other parent.
These concerns are understandable, particularly when considering how traditional custody proceedings typically unfold.
This is where FairMiddle can make a difference.
Consider a custody case in which two parents spend several months, or potentially years, negotiating the terms of their parenting plan.
For this example, let's assume an attorney charges $300 per hour and spends 50 billable hours working on the case.
At that rate, the attorney fees alone would total $15,000, excluding mediation expenses, court fees, and other miscellaneous costs.
Now, consider how that same process might look if one or both parents used FairMiddle.
Rather than relying on their attorneys to communicate every proposal, question, and counteroffer, both parents could use FairMiddle to answer the parenting-plan questions, submit additional proposals, and negotiate directly through the platform.
The parents would have the opportunity to review each other's responses, consider their options, and work through disagreements at their own pace.
Once they complete the process, the agreed-upon terms and any matters referred to legal counsel can be presented to their attorneys for review, clarification, and further negotiation where necessary. The final outcome is a signed time-sharing agreement that can be provided to an attorney for review and preparation with the appropriate legal language for submission to the court for the judge’s approval.
By addressing many of these discussions beforehand, parents may significantly reduce the amount of back-and-forth communication traditionally handled by their attorneys.
Using the same example of an attorney charging $300 per hour:
In this hypothetical scenario, one parent's total expenses for attorney fees and FairMiddle would be $7,799, compared with $15,000 in attorney fees alone.
That represents a potential savings of $7,201 for one parent, simply by reducing the attorney's billable time from 50 hours to 25 hours.
And remember, this example illustrates the potential savings for just one parent. Both parents may benefit from reducing the amount of attorney involvement required to negotiate their parenting plan.
By giving parents the tools to communicate, negotiate, and organize their agreements before or after involving legal counsel in every discussion, FairMiddle can help make the process more efficient, less stressful, and potentially more affordable.
Our goal is not to replace attorneys, but to help parents make better use of their legal representation by allowing attorneys to focus on legal guidance, unresolved matters, and preparing the necessary court documents.
Please note: The financial figures and timeframes presented above are hypothetical examples intended solely to illustrate potential savings. They do not represent guaranteed results, actual case costs, or expected reductions in legal fees. Every custody case is different, and actual expenses and outcomes will vary.
We believe parents deserve a more organized, thoughtful, and productive way to approach parenting agreements.
